Our precious Gulf

Message Board

Will it ever end??? I just can't express the horror this oil in the Gulf has caused for animals and people and there is no end in sight.  The pitiful sights of pelicans, dolphins, birds of all kinds, fish of all kinds gasping for air, unable to fly, the pictures don't do it justice yet they are worth a thousand words.  I can handle hurricanes, floods but this man made disaster......enrages me.  I have been too upset to talk about this with ya'll.  A fisherman committed suicide this week and the way things look that will only increase.  Fishing is the only life the majority of Cajuns live for....Their income is lost, BP is by no means getting money to the claimants no matter what you hear on the news, and if that ain't enough a Louisiana judge overturned the marotorium on drilling supported by our idiot govenor.  Talk about oil men.....What will it take to get people to realize this is the only earth we have and we are indeed destroying it.  We can't bring back wetlands that protect us from hurricanes, we have just gotten the brown pelican off the endangared species list only to probably have them put back on when this is over, and God only knows what other permanant damage will be done by this.  There isn't enough money in the world to replace that.  I am typing this through my tears....When will we EVER learn.

It is truly sickening.  I

It is truly sickening.  I lived in Belle Chasse/Plaquemines Parish years ago and I cry when I see it on the news now. I remember spending weekends on the Gulf Coast beaches in Biloxi and thinking it was one of the most beautiful places on earth. We would take day-long trips south on Belle Chasse highway until the road literally ended in the bayous and marshlands. I loved the wildlife there. My heart is broken for the locals who depend on the Gulf waters to live.

Hey Linda, I keep on

Hey Linda,

I keep on forgetting you lived here.  The animals and their suffering are so painful to me.  The fear of the people here is breath taking.  Thank God this storm in the gulf will not get to us.  But the season is still very young.   Thanks for thinking about us.

I am truly sorry

I am truly sorry for all who are affected by this terrible accident.  I believe that it was caused by greed and ignorance.   No Shut off valve.  Are you kidding me??    I have no idea when the emergency part  will end and   No one has any possible date when things get back together and functioning.  Praying for a quick recovery for the people and the animals and the earth.     Sending love to all.    Jan
