Greyhounds Make Great Pets will be holding a Memorial Bell Ceremony during the Greyhounds Reach the Beach weekend to honor the memory of our beloved departed greyhounds. The ceremony will take place on Friday October 8, 2010 at 116 Read Street in Dewey Beach and will begin at 1 pm. The bell ceremony is a fundraiser for Morris Animal Foundation.

As the ceremony will be held outdoors, in the event of inclement weather, please note the following schedule:

Ceremony Time: Friday October 8, 2010 beginning at 1 pm.

Rain Date #1: Saturday October 9, 2010 beginning at 9:30 am.

Rain Date #2: Sunday October 10, 2010 beginning at 9 am.

Your greyhound's name can be added to the list of those remembered at the GMGP Bell Ceremony for a donation of $10.00 per greyhound. At the ceremony, you will receive an individual memorial certificate for each of your greyhounds. Attending participants will also receive a memorial challenge coin (one coin per family). Those not attending Dewey who would like to include their greyhounds names, can add an additional $5.00 to obtain their certificate(s) and coin by mail. (if you are outside of the continental US, please contact us for shipping fees) We ask that all forms and donations be received no later than October 1, 2010 in order to guarantee your greyhound's name is included in the ceremony. If you are unable to pre-register, you can call 623.414.1030 after 10am on October 6 for instructions.

Memorial certificates can be picked up directly after the ceremony at 116 Read Street by the Bay or during regular vending hours at 116. (please see the Dewey Vendor’s Directory for times)
